Indiana troopers make multiple arrests and file drug charges

The arrests of five people recently took place in connection with suspected illegal drug activity. Indiana police made the arrests at a private residence where all of those apprehended were located at the time. Police say that they initiated surveillance on the residence when they noticed what appeared to be drug activities occurring there. Those arrested will now face drug charges in court.

After becoming suspicious of drug-related activities and watching the residence from afar, police obtained a search warrant in order to enter the home. They claim to have discovered controlled substances, including methamphetamine, as well as various drug paraphernalia during their search. Five people, ranging in age from 36 to 66 were among those arrested after the search was completed.

Three men and two women were charged. In addition to a number of different drug charges being filed against the individuals, one of the women will also face a charge of disorderly conduct for threatening to vandalize a police car. Several of those arrested were also charged with visiting a common nuisance, which is a charge that accuses someone of being present where drugs are being used or allowing his or her home or vehicle to be used for the purpose of drug use.

Whether in Indiana or another state, any person charged with similar drug charges is able to retain legal help by contacting a criminal defense attorney. An experienced legal professional would be able to advise a defendant regarding what options might be available to him or her insofar as a defense strategy is concerned. A criminal lawyer would also be able to ensure that a person's rights are protected throughout the legal process.
